Sounds complicated, but Ill give it a try. Then there are 4 philips head screws holding the HU in. Remove the upper dash trim, remove the AC controls, then remove the cover for the head unit. They said they would have to go through the entire system to try to diagnose the issue and that none of the iDrive stuff is covered under my CPO warranty so I just deal with it. You need to remove the head unit which is the lower section with the CD/DVD drives.
